Field Trip to Museum of Anthropology

6 April, 2012

Last week the students in the History of Textile Art class, together with their instructor, Tisha Singer, went on a field trip to the Museum of Anthropology  to view their collection of historical textiles.

The M.O.A has hundreds of textiles from all over the world and we were very fortunate to see first-hand examples of textiles that we have been studying this semester.

5 November, 2011

Second year students had the opportunity to visit Wendy Van Riesen, a Capilano University Textile Art alumna and owner of Dahlia Drive.  Wendy’s collection is absolutely amazing and her creative energy is infectious! Here are just a few shots of transfer techniques Wendy uses with rusted iron gates! Be sure to check out Wendy’s website at http://www.dahliadrive.com/
