Last week the students in the History of Textile Art class, together with their instructor, Tisha Singer, went on a field trip to the Museum of Anthropology to view their collection of historical textiles. The M.O.A has hundreds of textiles from all over the world and we were very fortunate to see first-hand examples of textiles that we have been studying this semester. Here are a few shots from the Capilano University Textile Arts Student Sale on Tuesday. Work included that of alumni, second year diploma, and advanced certificate textile arts students. It was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously! Students generated a small series of layered or textural prints for their first screen printing project. The subject matter is based on the individual students’ concept of ‘culture‘.
